Frequently Asked Questions
Q. Do you make trailers?
A. No we don't make trailers. We manufacture a range of trailer undergear, axles and suspension units, and provide a full range of ancillary equipment including couplings, wheels and tyres, jockey wheels, lights mudguards etc. required in the manufacture of trailers.

Q. Do you stock axles or suspension units?
A. We don't stock axles as they are manufactured to order to customers' specification. We stock a small quantity of lower capacity unbraked Peakride suspension units for emergency purposes e.g. vehicle off road situations

Q. What is the lead-time for axles and/or suspension units?
A. Our lead-time is generally 10 working days for painted items and 10-15 working days for galvanised items.

Q. How do I measure the PCD of my wheels?
A. Please refer to the data sheet on wheel rims which demonstrates how to calculate the stud pattern.

Q. What studding patterns are available on the axles and/or suspension units?
A. For the range of stud patterns we offer on both unbraked hubs and braked drums please refer to the data sheet titled 'Brake drum, hub and stub axle assemblies'. Please contact the sales office for alternative stud patterns.

Q. How do I identify what Peak axle/suspension unit I have?
A. Since 1991 all Peak manufactured braked suspension units and axles have a vin plate fitted with a unique serial number. This number will help identify type, capacity, size of brakes and stud pattern, however in the case of axles you may still need to take dimensional details as the information on older serial numbers is not always available.

Q. What if I can't find a serial number or have an unbraked axle/suspension unit?
A. You will have to take dimensional details from the axle or suspension unit and refer to the relevant data sheets. The axle data sheet shows what measurements are required in order to manufacture a replacement.

Q. Do you sell spares for your products?
A. Yes we generally have a large range of spares in stock from wheel nuts to replacement brake shoes, from bearings to leaf springs. Please call the sales office for price and availability.

Q. Do you have a retail outlet?
A. Yes we have a factory shop on-site at Bidford-on Avon that is open during working hours. The shop holds a range of products from a wide variety of manufacturers and so please call on 01789 778081 and they will be pleased to help with your enquiry.
